I have been honoured to have Puja Amin as my dance trainer at Sanskriti Arts for over 2 years. She has always encouraged me to exhibit my strengths and worked diligently to strengthen my weaknesses, not only in dance, but beyond as well. Her specific attention to my dance training not only as a dancer but as an instructor for Sanskriti Arts and Bollycore Inc. also has greatly encouraged my self-confidence and artistic capabilities. Over the course of 2 years, Puja has become my mentor and inspiration. This year, she encouraged me to compete in the Miss Beauties of Asia 2011 pageant. It was with her strong positive remarks and constant encouragement that I decided to follow her guidance and enter this pageant.
I spent many rigorous hours training weekly with Puja for my talent pieces from the first audition to the final competition. Her artistic abilities to merge all of my diverse talents together into one piece resulted in a mind-blowing performance for my audition, giving me the stepping stone into the pageant. She combined Bollywood dance, Belly dance, Steel pan, West African dance and Samba into one high-powered routine. Puja’s choreographic ability is what won me the title of Miss Popular at my very first audition. Her outstanding choice of costume and stress on expressiveness is what helped my performance catch the eyes of the viewers.
After having made it to the finals, Puja had inspired me to put my own creative elements into my final talent piece. Her selection of songs and heavy emphasis for me to express from within during my performance is what made my final performance what it was. Puja has always surprised me with her choreography because every single piece is different in its own. I knew that I could count on Puja to create a fantastic dance piece for me for the final pageant because of her years of professional experience. This was appraised at the grand finale of Miss Beauty of Asia 2011 as I was not only crowned Miss Beauty of Asia 2011, but also awarded Miss Best Talent.
